Overview
Q-Tip and Phife traded wisdom over Ron Carter upright bass and dusty jazz samples, mellow, musical and adult. The album set the course for alternative hip hop and proved rap could be laid back, thoughtful and still hard, influencing neo soul and every jazz rap act since.
