Overview
Recorded mostly in Nashville with crack session players, it was one of the first double albums in rock. Dylan later described its sound as that thin, wild mercury sound. Visions of Johanna, Just Like a Woman and the side long Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands mix surreal poetry with loose country rock, completing the run begun with Bringing It All Back Home.
